Those who sell the Social Democrats’ controversial party tickets sit in Barcelona. They target confused elderly and use aggressive methods, have Today’s News revealed.
Roger Gabrielsson in Sundsvall is 65 years old and a retired dentist. He is one of those who experienced the Social Democrats’ salesman.
– They didn’t take no for a no but continued to nag several times, says Roger to TV4 Nyheterna.
Bringing in millions on sales
The Social Democrats’ lottery brings in millions of kroner to the party coffers every year. The party’s lottery group is called Kombispel, and they in turn have hired the company Effective Communication, which is said to have conducted the sales from Barcelona.
When Roger was contacted by one of the sellers, he tried to refuse.
– They made me an offer and I said no, but then they started to take it back once more. So I said no again and then they continued again. In the end, I said that if you continue now, I have to send a report to the consumer ombudsman.
After the conversation, Roger has reported the sale, and is happy that the sellers’ methods have now come to light.
“Aggressive”
Today’s news has spoken to several former employees who testify that the salespeople were encouraged to sell even to confused elderly people. In addition, they hide the fact that it is a subscription and use made-up campaigns. The revelation has caused the Social Democrats to pause telephone sales, something Roger is happy about.
– If you come across an elderly person who can’t think clearly… you shouldn’t make an agreement with someone like that, says Roger and continues:
– I think they were aggressive. You should not try to persuade someone who clearly does not want the offer.
