The first period was even. HV 71 started best and took the lead through Joonas Nättinen after 8.44, but Linköping equalized through Ty Rattie just three minutes later.
The second period was goalless. HV 71 scored 2-1 through Radan Lenc after 13.45 in the third period.
Linköping equalized at 2-2 through Sebastian Strandberg with 54 seconds left in the period of the match. In the penalty shootout, it was Linköping that decided 2-3. Markus Ljungh took the decisive penalty.
HV 71 won the teams’ last meeting with 3-2 in Saab Arena.
