What are speeding tickets?
Speeding fines count as a fine, which is a legal penalty issued to someone who has exceeded the speed limit on a stretch of road.
You can get it both from the police during a check or if you drive too fast past a speed camera.

In Sweden, the financial penalty varies from SEK 1,500 to SEK 4,000. It is enough to drive just 5 km/h too fast to risk a fine.
If the speed violation is considered serious, the driver’s license can be confiscated.
It is the Police who issue the fines, while the Swedish Transport Agency can decide on a revocation of the driver’s license.
