In the ice hockey CHL, Pelicans teased the Swedish champion Skellefteå AIK in the third set.
Pelicans faced Skellefteå AIK away on Friday. At the beginning of the final set, the Lahti team came from two goals behind to make it 2–2 by Tim Lindfors and Konsta Hirvonen with hits, but in the end the reigning champion of the SHL proved to be better with numbers 4–2.
The decisive goal was seen in 54:58, when Skellefteå’s captain Jonathan Pudas feathered a player from Lahti a couple of times and then shot the third full hit that was the winning goal. The final scores were sealed by the home team.
On Sunday, Pelicans will play in Denmark against SonderjysKE Vojens.
The Pelicans have two points from Geneve-Servette in the CHL points gap. The 16 best teams from the six-match group stage will advance to the playoffs from a total of 24 teams.
After the coming weekend, the Lahtela team will face the Czech Dynamo Pardubice away in October and the French Rouen Dragons at home.
