Kotka’s Peli-Karhut bowed out after exciting changes in the basketball EuroCup match in Romania.

At the weekend, Peli-Karhut, who had a crushing victory in the top-of-the-table competition at Tapiola Honga on the domestic courts, was in good mood in Romania, but lost for the second time to the Romanian Constanta in the F group of the EuroCup.

On Wednesday, PeKa was 14 seconds from the end with a 68-69 loss and five seconds from the end 70-71. In the last moments, Constanta increased the difference to four points and won the score 74–70.

The Finnish club’s best scorers were Lauren Heard 24/5, Elina Koskimies 14/4, Linda-Lotta Lehtoranta 9/4, Jade Williams 9/6 and Anissa Pounds 7.

The match was decided by the teams’ bench, as Constanta took the score with a huge margin of 46–11. The home team Gabriela Marginal bagged 27 points.

Group leader Constanta has won three of the four European games they have played, while PeKa has won one of the same number of matches.

Peli-Karhuje’s next EuroCup match is against Belgian team Braine on November 20 in Kotka.
