Pekka Lindmark and Anders Limpar’s apology to Ingemar Stenmark after shameful behavior: “Pure fucking bullying”

Ingemar Stenmark was so superior that the rivals decided to intervene.
Afterwards, Pekka Lindmark, Anders Limpar and Kenny Bräck were ashamed.
– It’s really fucking bullying to do that, said Pekka.

As an active alpine skier, Ingemar Stenmark was completely superior. In total, there were 86 World Cup victories – then the most of all time – and he is undoubtedly the sport’s uncrowned king. Stenmark has always had an enormous physique and perhaps an even bigger winner’s skull.

The shame after the behavior

It was therefore not particularly surprising that he would also be good in the SVT classic Mästarnas Mästare, in which Stenmark participated in 2011. Already in the first program, Stenmark appeared to be superior, so much so that the rivals decided to take matters into their own hands. And then there were still no dozen liras that Stenmark was pitted against.

In the program, Stenmark competed against icons such as Pekka Lindmark, Hanna Ljungberg, Maria Brandin, Anders Limpar and Kenny Bräck. During a competition, all of the above chose to choose Stenmark as the competitor who will have it tougher. When Stenmark noticed this, he himself said that it reminded him of what happened during his career.

– It feels much like when they changed the rules in the World Cup. It feels like they feel I’m a threat, he said.

“Real fucking bullying”

And that’s exactly how it was. Stenmark stayed in the competition, and when the participants gathered afterwards, Pekka Lindmark in particular was ashamed.

– It’s lucky that Ingemar is strong. Had he been mentally weak … it’s really fucking bullying to do that, he said.

When Aftonbladet later spoke to Lindmark about the incident, he elaborated on the shame.

– It felt a bit like there was incitement against him. It shouldn’t be like that, it’s a game. Someone else might have collapsed and not been able to continue in the program, but Ingemar took it the right way. The rest of us had to go against him to have a chance, said Pekka.
