Pedro Sanchez meets Nunez Feijoo in a climate of tension

This Friday, December 22, after considerable efforts to achieve this, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and the leader of the conservative opposition Nunez Feijóo will meet. And this, in a climate of tension rarely reached. To the point that they decided to meet in a neutral place: the Lower Chamber of Deputies, in Madrid. And not at Moncloa, the government palace, as is usually the case.

The meeting between the two men, Pedro Sánchez and Alberto Nunez Feijóo, will serve at least one thing: to agree on the modification of article 49 of the Constitution. From now on, we will no longer say disabled people, but people with a disability.

For the rest, the two men have been staring at each other for weeks and will certainly not reach any consensus.

The conservative leader is furious that the head of the socialist government has decided to pass an amnesty law in favor of dozens of Catalan separatists convicted or in the process of being convicted. Angry too, because the town hall of Pamplona recently moved to the left thanks to an alliance between socialists and Basque separatists.

Conversely, Pedro Sánchez protests against the fact that the conservatives refuse to renew the General Council of the Judicial Power, a sort of government of judges, which allows the right to keep control of the Supreme Court or the Tribunal constitutional.

There is no doubt that the reproaches will rain down and that this long-awaited meeting will not allow any real rapprochement.
