A pedestrian was airlifted to a London hospital after a Saturday night crash in Chatham.

Shortly before 8 pm, Chatham-Kent police were called to the scene on Richmond Street near Lacroix Street.
“When responding officers arrived on scene, they located a male party who had appeared to be struck by a vehicle while crossing the roadway on Richmond Street,” police said in a release Sunday.
The 52-year-old Chatham man received serious injuries, police added. The man was airlifted to London for further medical treatment.
There was no immediate word whether or not any charges were pending in the investigation.
Break-in reported at vet clinic
On Saturday, shortly after 3:30 am, police were called to a break-in at the Chatham-Kent Veterinary Clinic in Chatham.
When responding officers arrived on scene, they located the front door of the business smashed in, with entry being made, police said.

Officers were able to determine that nothing appeared to be taken from the business, and no one was in the area when police attended.

Ex-boyfriend accused of lease violation
Police received a call Friday night regarding a lease violation complaint in Tilbury.
A man who was on conditions not to speak to his ex-girlfriend was continuously contacting her, police said.
Responding officers were able to confirm this information with the woman, police added, resulting in grounds for the arrest of the ex-boyfriend.
Officers then attended the man’s address, where he was arrested.
The 42-year-old Tilbury man was arrested for failing to comply with his release order. He was taken to police headquarters and held for lease.
