The models of fans are numerous, and with them, as many advantages and disadvantages according to the various buildings. But how do you choose between a pedestal or pedestal fan, and which is more efficient? This is what we will see in this article.

Pedestal fans: a reference

It is the absolute benchmark for ventilation, fans on foot remain a must. Why ? Simply because of the ventilation capacity. Indeed, pedestal fans are based on a very simple propeller system.

Whether they are in plasticin stainless steel Where metal, pedestal fans offer exceptional ventilation capacity. Everything will, of course, depend on the size of their propeller. Indeed, the more imposing it is, the greater the ventilation will be. Also, and this is one of the points to be taken into consideration, the pedestal fans – if they have a stream ofair therefore – have little or no ventilation dispersion capacity: the ventilated air will be projected in one direction only.

To remedy this problem, manufacturers have designed height-adjustable and swiveling fans. De facto, the room can be swept by a more or less constant flow of air. Thus, pedestal fans can be installed in an office or in a living room. So many points which, added to their price — some start at around €25 –, will make them leaders in the matterbut be careful, because column fans are coming.

Pedestal fans: an interesting choice

This is their main advantage: they ventilate a larger surface. Indeed, the fans column, by their construction, produce air over a larger vertical surface than blade fans.

So you have air not only in the head, but also in the feet. A global refresh that allows you to quickly cool a room or at least an area. Rotating and adjustable, their power is not to be outdone. They thus remain just as effective as fans with blades, except that they take up less space. It is therefore, in fact, more judicious for a small room, a bedroom or an office, to be interested in the latter.

Which fan to choose?

Everything will depend on your needs. Pedestal fans remain longer mobiles, more ergonomic and more stylish. Easier to integrate into a room, they will allow you to cool down simply and evenly.

The choice therefore remains complex. For small budgets, pedestal fans cannot be highly recommended. For larger budgets, column fans, from recognized brands and in addition to their more modern appearance, will provide ergonomic, precise and powerful cooling.

Do not forget to mention the fans without blades brands like Dyson which, for their part, are positioned on a more expensive niche, while providing the maximum quality of design, ergonomics but also refreshment.

In short, if the budget is an important parameter, weighing in the balance, then will come the design but also the use and the desired room to be ventilated. A small office, for example, will be predisposed to accommodate a column fan, while a living room can accommodate both types of models without problem. The whole thing being above all to find out about the technical characteristics of the chosen model. Not all of them will provide the same powers or the same services.
