It was a nice Swedish afternoon in the world cup show jumping in Leipzig – despite a snowy end.

Both Rolf-Göran Bengtsson with Zuccero HV and Peder Fredricson with Vroom de la Pomme Z had flawless preliminary rounds and made it to the jump-off.

– He is a genius. The international comeback looks brilliant, commented SVT Sports expert Lotta Björe about Rolf-Göran Bengtsson and Zuccero HV’s effort.

Clear the last obstacle

Bengtsson was again faultless in the jump-off, but the time was not enough for a podium place and the team finished sixth. The hope was in Peder Fredricson’s hands and it looked like it would be a Swedish success. The 51-year-old had first place within reach but then broke the last obstacle and finished eighth.

– No, what a shame. All you have to do is lift your hat. He’s really back to old beats. That gave me goosebumps, commented SVT Sports expert Lotta Björe.

Jonna Ekberg broke the last obstacle in the preliminary round and did not advance to the jump-off. The Irishman Daniel Coyle and the mare Legacy won.
