GPUs such as GeForce RTX 3070, RTX 4060 Ti, RTX 4070 target 1440p gaming. However, in addition to high performance, a powerful PC is required to play games at this resolution. Therefore, moving to 1440p resolution comes with higher system requirements.
The decline in the usage rate of 1080p displays shows that the transition to 1440p is gaining momentum. Additionally, 4% of Steam users have 4K and ultrawide 3440 x 1440 UWQHD displays. This is remarkable at a time when monitor manufacturers are focusing on 1440p, ultra-wide and 4K displays.
February 2024 Steam Hardware and Software Survey results showed that 1440p display usage increased by 2.97%. However, it should be noted that this increase may take time, considering that the new generation GPUs focus on 1080p resolution. Therefore, 1440p usage is expected to increase further in the coming period.
