(Finance) – The issue of payback for medical devices was one of the central issues addressed by the president of Conflavoro, Roberto Capobianco, during the meeting at Palazzo Chigi on the 2025 budget law.
A battle that sees Conflavoro PMI Sanità at the forefront: “We expect the Government to correct a damage that has been going on for decades – says President Gennaro Broya de Lucia – by intervening even before the TAR rulings expected from 25 February 2025. A complete review is also needed in light of of the indications of the Constitutional Court. Furthermore, the continuous use of an extraordinary instrument does not allow the medical device payback to be considered an exceptional measure, an element which, albeit with obvious forcing, could have made it considered compliant with the constitution. We are therefore faced with a serious threat not only to the sustainability of medtech businesses and employment, but also to the health of citizens and the very credibility of the country.”
“We have asked the Government to immediately allocate the funds necessary to correct the inefficiencies that have been affecting medtech companies for too many years. With a budget of 320 million intended for exemptions for micro SMEs up to 10 million and which allows a discount of up to 80% for all companies above this threshold – adds Roberto Capobianco, national president of Conflavoro – we can protect over 4 thousand companies and thus safeguard 200 thousand essential jobs. It is vital that we act promptly to ensure the sustainability and growth of our healthcare SMEs.”
