Paulina Brandberg on SVT’s review of exploitation of people in the industrial boom in the north

Police and prosecutors must get more money – but the entire responsibility for handling the abuses cannot be placed on law enforcement authorities, and more cooperation is required, says Paulina Brandberg.

The Work Environment Agency has also been tasked with carrying out more unannounced inspections.

– In addition to innocent people being affected, there is also a distortion of competition in our labor market, where the serious players are out-competed by players who make a profit at the expense of the health and safety of the workers, says Brandberg.

The problem is not new, she emphasizes.

Do you think Sweden has been naive about this?

– I think we have turned a blind eye to this too much.
