Ice hockey in the NHL Patrick Laine returned after an ankle injury to the ranks of the Columbus Blue Jackets to measure up against his former club the Winnipeg Jets. In the away match, Columbus defeated the host team 4–1.
Laine, who was on the sidelines for the last seven matches, started strongly by first scoring the opening goal of the match, after which he scored another 3-1 goal at the beginning of the second period of the match.
Laine’s season has been interrupted, as he was also injured in the team’s first game of the season and was then sidelined for six games. In the interview after the match, Laine said that he was satisfied with his performance of the evening.
– The match went better than I expected. We made good changes as a team and “Korpi” was incredible today, Laine, the Columbus goalkeeper, beamed Joonas Korpisaloa.
Laine found room for improvement in his own defensive game.
– There were situations in the game when I slept in the defensive area, but luckily “Korpi” saved, we have to offer him dinner, Laine continued.
Korpisalo saved Columbus 37 times with a goal. The Finnish goalkeeper’s strong grip in the game was also noticed in the dressing room of the Columbus team.
Kevin Lankinen blocked the record balance of his NHL career
