Patrik Laine may return to real action in the NHL hockey league this weekend. Columbus’s Finnish star has circled the January 26 meeting with the Swedish tackler.
The Columbus Blue Jackets of the NHL Patrick Laine has been sidelined from the club’s games for three weeks, but the return to the rink is now close. Laine may be seen in the Jackets ranks as early as this weekend, when the team faces Detroit and the New York Rangers in away games.
The editor who produces content for the Jackets website Jeff Svoboda told the message service X that the head coach Pascal Vincent according to Laine “hopefully” he will return already this weekend.
– He has such a bad cold back. He wants to help the team, Vincent said.
Laine herself stated that more will be known about the matter on Saturday.
– I hope (I will play on the weekend). I’ll see how I feel tomorrow (Saturday), but everything has felt good and I’ve been able to skate well lately. It’s not nice to watch from the top of the exercise bike while the other dudes are playing. Especially when we’ve had a hard time, Laine said according to Svoboda.
Columbus has suffered seven losses in its last eight games.
Laine was sidelined from the actual action when Calgary’s Swedish defender Rasmus Andersson tackled Laine with an elbow to the head in the last seconds of the match played on October 20. Andersson was banned for four games for his trick.
Laine described Andersson’s sudden tackle as “unnecessary”.
– Things like that happen sometimes and you just have to move on from them. But people don’t forget. I’m just saying I’m pretty excited to face him (Andersson) in January. That’s about it (for now), Laine said, referring to the Jackets’ visit to Calgary on Jan. 26.
