Nylander’s wild streak was broken

Jesse Ylönen decided the match
Kaapo Kähkönen came off the bench in San Jose as the Sharks lost to the visiting Montreal Canadiens 2–3. The match was decided only in the shootout. The hit that clinched Montreal’s victory was scored by Jesse Ylönen.
Ylönen hit the winning shot in the sixth round of the senior championship.
San Jose Mikael Granlund failed in his own attempt in the fourth round of the Grand Prix when he pulled past.
Barkov: “We weren’t at our best”
Alexander Barkov returned to the NHL arena after being sidelined for two games due to a knee injury, but despite this the Florida Panthers lost at home 0–3 to the Winnipeg Jets.
– We weren’t at our best from the beginning of the game. Of course we did what we could, but they defended really well, Barkov said on the NHL website.
Winnipeg goaltender Connor Hellebuyck recorded his first shutout of the season and 33rd of his NHL career, making 32 saves. Hellebuyck also stopped Barkov’s drive late in the second period.
– Their goalkeeper was really good. I think we didn’t get enough players on goal for return pucks. This was tight throughout the game, Barkov said.
For Winnipeg, the win was the fifth in a row and the eighth in the last nine games. The Panthers had won six straight at home before losing to the Boston Bruins on Wednesday.
