North American hockey reporters say that Patrik Laine will move to the Montreal Canadiens.

Monday night hockey reporters Elliotte Friedman and Mark Scheig were the first to say on social media that Patrik Laine career continues with the Montreal Canadiens.
The NHL’s official website later confirmed that Montreal has sent a defenseman in the triple chain by Jordan Harris to Columbus. Patrik Laine and the 2026 second round reservation right moved in the other direction in the trade.
Laine, 26, completed the treatment program of the NHL and the players’ association NHLPA in the summer, which is intended for players suffering from mental health problems, gambling addiction or other problems. Lately, Laine’s career has been uneventful, and at the beginning of the summer he requested a transfer to another part of Columbus.
The Tampere native will earn $8.7 million annually over the next two seasons. The salary of Jordan Harris, who is moving to the Blue Jackets, will be 1.4 million dollars next season.
Laine moved to Columbus in the 2020–2021 season. Last season, he played 18 matches in which he scored six goals. In total, he has played 480 regular season games in the NHL and scored 204 goals.
