We got to see many incredible moments in “Master of Masters”.
But few can probably measure up to Patrik Järbyn’s display in jägarvila.
When he first broke Ingemar Stenmark himself and then slaughtered everyone in the all-time record.
Over the years, we have seen many of our Swedish athletes perform and offer unforgettable moments in the SVT program “Master of Champions”. Many years after their careers have ended, they have still managed to push their bodies to great deeds in the various competition moments.
Järbyn’s will
Many remember of course Ingemar Stenmarks legendary equal-foot jumps up a stone wall that are now television history. But then of course we have the downhill skier Patrik Järbyn who exceeded all expectations and made history in the Champions of Champions in the 2022 season.

It was time for the classic hunter rest and we have seen many who were completely broken down by that challenge. But Järbyn bit down and showed a will of steel.

Beats Stenmark
First he beat everyone else competing that day but chose to sit out to go for the all-time record, see the video below. The next intermediate goal was to beat Ingemar Stenmark’s own record in just over 10 minutes.
– Now you have beaten Ingemar. Congratulations! 3, 2, 1… and now you beat Magdalena Forsberg too, says the presenter Mike Leijnegard.
– You have beaten André there as well.

Both Magdalena Forsberg and André Myhrer became pure child’s play and now only a single name remained on the record list. It was Frida Hansdotter who held the record of an incredible 26 minutes from the year before.
– I have to take Frida too, says Järbyn during the hunter’s rest and bites down even more.
– Sitting there hurts terribly. It is a pain over a very long time, he admits after the competition moment.
