Since March 2021 the couple had been under house arrest in their comfortable property in Giverny. It has continued to increase the number of offences: there is talk of a hundred ringing incidents and ” a bit of casualness “, had recognized their lawyer.
5.3 million euros unpaid to public finances
A bit of casualness and a lot of arrogance. The judges underline in a document the attitude ” condescending, even outrageous by Isabelle Balkany in front of the prison staff for integration and probation.
Justice also reproaches them, and perhaps above all, for not having paid the sums due to public finances: more than 5.3 million euros. The couple, who nevertheless receive 12,000 euros per month, obviously did not want to adapt their lifestyle.
Isabelle Balkany is also affected by this court decision. But she remains for the time being in the hospital after a suicide attempt.
