Patrias plane made a forced landing on a sandy beach

There were three people in the Austrian-made plane. No one was injured in the forced landing.

Defense and technology company Patria’s aircraft made a forced landing on the southern coast of Spain on Friday afternoon.

The small plane that was on the training flight developed a problem, and the plane had to land on a sandy beach in the town of Salobreña in the province of Granada. There was an instructor and two students on the plane.

No one was injured in the forced landing. The cause of the error is currently being investigated.

The Austrian Diamond DA40 NG type plane was returning from a flight training exercise from Almería to Córdoba. Civilian pilot training was underway.

Patria’s director of communications Sirje Ahvenlampi-Hyvönen says that the forced invoice has been followed according to the instructions.

– The pilot chose the best possible place to land. In this case, it was a sandy beach, Ahvenlampi-Hyvönen says.

Patria trains pilots in Pirkkala and in Córdoba, Spain. The company has a total of nine training machines in Córdoba.
