Path of Exile 2’s big update changes the endgame more than expected – Official Patch Notes

In Path of Exile 2 it is now known what is really in Update 0.1.1. The exact patch notes reveal over 350 changes to the game. Here you get an overview.

When is the patch available? Path of Exile 2 update 0.1.1 goes live on January 16, 2025 at around 10:00 p.m. On PC it is approximately 9.7GB. The servers will restart during this period, which should take around 15 minutes (via pathofexile.com). So you have to update PoE2 before the changes take effect.

Path of Exile 2 maintenance usually doesn’t last long. This time too, the patch notes are really very long.

Currently only the English patch notes are available on the official site. If the German version appears, we will update the list.

What are the highlights of the update? The head of Path of Exile 2 has already announced the most important innovations in a short video on YouTube. This time there should be no nerfs, just buffs and the introduction of loot filters on the console.

However, the patch notes now provide information about the extent to which the changes affect the game. The endgame of the game in particular is severely affected this time. There are several new tower maps here and the existing tower map has been fundamentally revised.

With the boss “Arbiter of Ash”, or in German “Arbiter of Ash”, from the patch you have six attempts in the boss fight instead of just one. This will later also affect other bosses of the same strength. The boss himself also receives a few changes.

Additionally, Path of Exile 2’s maps have been changed to be more special. For example, one map should be filled with strongboxes, while the other has none at all, but offers many more monsters than usual.

The league mechanics have all been slightly adjusted with the patch so that the loot from all game modes should be approximately the same. Previously, many players had primarily played the Breach League mechanic because it gave the most loot, as a player on the PS5 proves.

Even though players were spared from nerfs this time, they will probably be part of the updates again in the future.
