The role-playing game Path of Exile 2 introduced the new Mercenary class in a new gameplay video. She is supposed to bring a shooter atmosphere to the RPG and kills her opponents with crossbows.

As part of a live stream, Grinding Gear Games presented the mercenary, a new class for the upcoming RPG Path of Exile 2, which is fundamentally different from the other classes in terms of fighting style.

What is the new class fighting for? The new Mercenary class is a ranged fighter. He uses a crossbow, with different types of ammunition and modifications available to him:

For example, you can choose ammunition that is effective for a single enemy or entire groups. Different ammunition or adaptations provide certain extras, such as slowing down, igniting, freezing or stunning the enemies.

That’s not all: you will also have different crossbows at your disposal. Similar to different types of weapons, these will have individual characteristics and, for example, score points at different distances like a sniper rifle or shotgun.

In addition, you can not only use the mouse to control the mercenary, but also the WASD keys on your keyboard. This allows you to run somewhere and fire your crossbow at the same time.

In addition, the mercenary’s skills and attacks are triggered immediately – even while you are running. So you don’t have to stop every time – like with the other classes – to attack.
