In Path of Exile 2, a professional gave his conclusion a month after the game was released. In his criticism he claims that the developers have broken a promise.
Who is it about? DonTheCrown is a streamer and content creator for Path of Exile 2. According to his own statements, the professional has already spent over 10,000 hours of play in the predecessor. In PoE2 there were at least 350 hours in one month.
The streamer has now gained enough experience to give his feedback on the ARPG and talks about the major problems with PoE2.

Factual criticism of the big problems
What does DonTheCrown criticize? In a YouTube video, the streamer explains how he finds Path of Exile 2 for over 20 minutes. He also expresses criticism of things that currently make the game unplayable for him and others.
The focus of his criticism is the loot. He finds this too much, in complete contrast to many other adventurers. While there was originally less loot, the developers followed suit quite early with an update and gave users more drops.
However, this means that loot filters become more and more important, especially when you play your character into the endgame. These filters do what the name suggests: they hide items, namely those that have hardly any value. By the way, the most famous loot filter comes from a German developer.
The problem: There are no loot filters on the console. It’s only available on the PC. DonTheCrown expresses his criticism like this:
She [Anmerkung der Redaktion: Die Entwickler] said that PoE2 would solve the loot filter problem, said that we wouldn’t need a loot filter. If you talk to someone who plays on the console, the game is virtually unplayable in the endgame. All the loot is all over the floor and it’s absolutely crazy. I can [dort] see nothing.
I have a very strict loot filter and I get a whole bunch of stuff that I probably don’t even care about, so I feel like I have to spend a lot of time managing and clicking on my loot. There are a lot of things I would like to collect automatically.

According to him, the developers broke the promise that loot filters would not be needed. But with all the loot it would be difficult for him to find his way around. Therefore, there can be no question of loot filters being unusable in PoE 2.
What else does he say about the ARPG? DonTheCrown has mixed feelings about the ARPG. On the one hand, he finds the campaign impressive, unlike its predecessor. However, he found it too long and doesn’t actually want to play through it again.
He also sees a huge discrepancy between boss fights. Some feel epic, others would just beg to roll behind the boss. He enjoys the breach mechanic in the endgame, but it is also the only one of the endgame mechanics that is really worth it.
When it comes to skills, he is happy about the breath of fresh air, but criticizes the lack of variety in builds due to the skills integrated into the weapons. These would ensure that professionals and beginners would often play the same thing.
The streamer added to his video in the comments that he would like to use his criticism to give the developers of Grinding Gear Games suggestions for improvement. The developers should have fixed these by the time of the full release so that the game becomes an even greater success. The community is also currently giving its feedback on the game: Players are annoyed with Path of Exile 2, but just can’t stop playing – this is what the ARPG is doing after a month
