Path of Exile 2 is so successful that the studio has to hire new people to answer you

Path of Exile 2 is off to a spectacular start. However, many players are currently contacting support and asking for help. Developer Grinding Gear Games is in a personnel emergency as a result, but wants to take care of it now.

What’s going on in Path of Exile 2? Since its release, the developers of the new ARPG have had their hands full. On the one hand, there is a lot of praise, but also criticism from the fans. The issue of loot, for example, is something that long-time players are dissatisfied with.

From a technical perspective, there were server problems and queues, especially in the first few hours after launch. No wonder, since over a million players have bought the early access version for 30 euros. Over the weekend, up to 578,000 users played the game simultaneously (via steam.db).

A first patch is already on the way. But since minor problems occur while playing, many players turn to support from developer Grinding Gear Games. This leads to further problems. Although the studio expected the massive rush on the servers and is actively taking care of it, there are staff shortages elsewhere.

The developers are literally overwhelmed

What’s the problem? Many players have sent support requests and received no response. According to Grinding Gear Games, this is because there is currently a lack of staff who can answer the many emails.

In the Path of Exile 2 forum, the developers emphasize that they actually want to respond on the same day or even the same hour. That is their claim. However, since there is currently an incredibly large number of inquiries coming in, this is simply not possible.

The internal system is also overloaded, which leads to further delays. Some emails would also not have been processed correctly. We therefore ask you not to send follow-up messages but to wait until the first message is answered.

However, a solution is already being worked on. New employees are currently being hired to only take care of support. The aim is to quickly reduce the backlog and provide all players with answers. Improvements are also being made on the technical side so that a larger number of inquiries can be received in the future without any problems.

In their post, the developers once again emphasize how pleased they are by the great interest shown by players. They thank fans for their patience with technical difficulties and want to make every effort to increase response times for support requests.

Grinding Gear Games is currently taking measures to improve communication between developers and players. Have you already had the problems described? Have you received an answer?
