Patch Notes for Patch 5 – It’s now really worth replaying the ending

The new Patch 5 for Baldur’s Gate 3 is now available for PC (Steam) and PS5. The patch notes are packed with changes. MeinMMO summarizes the most important things for you.

Patch 5 highlights:

Why should I play the ending again? There is now an entirely new ending scene based on your choices in the game. The original ending is considered quite unsatisfying.

The quasi “new act 6” takes place six months after the end of the game. All your companions will be there again and you can talk to them. There are brand new cutscenes for every possible decision you made.

If you’ve already finished the game, you can still check out the new ending: Larian explains that you can load a save before the final battle. Afterwards you will see the new epilogue.

Middle finger to the AAA industry: Baldur’s Gate 3 was no coincidence

New game modes, performance improvements and tons of bug fixes

The new Honor mode is aimed primarily at players who are looking for a challenge. Boss opponents get “legendary actions” – in D&D these are special actions that only such bosses can do and which they can use a few times each round.

If you die in this mode, you get an overview of your successes – but the round is over. You can continue playing, but the “Honour” mode itself will then end. If you make it to the end, you will receive an achievement and golden dice as skin.

There are also some bug fixes and, above all, updates for better game quality. You can now search the inventories of all characters in the camp, even if they are not in your group. There are also changes such as:

A change that is only dealt with in one sentence should make many players happy: Minthara now comments with a loving word when you are in a relationship. That’s not much, but it’s a step in the right direction for all Drow fans who have been demanding more content for a long time
