Patch 9.2.7 is coming next week – that’s in it

A new patch for World of Warcraft is in the starting blocks. We’ll tell you what’s in Shadowlands update 9.2.7.

Even if the 4th season of World of Warcraft Dragonflight has just started, Blizzard has prepared a small patch that brings a few small but nice features with it. The 9.2.7 patch should primarily delight auction house fans and also do those who feel disturbed by boosting spam a favor.

What’s in the patch? Actually only two features, but they should have some effects.

  • The Auction House is once again part of the WoW Companion App
  • Browse and view current auctions.
  • Bid and complete buy-ins.
  • Search for specific auctions.
  • Add or remove items from the favorites list.
  • View or cancel your own auctions.
  • A new chat channel for finding and offering services such as raids, dungeons, or PvP activities: Trade (Services).
  • This channel is basically for selling and finding boosting offers. If you want to pull other players through content for gold in order to give them achievements, equipment or mounts, you will have a fixed channel in the future.

This has the advantage that other areas, such as the LFG tool, are no longer bombarded with such requests and anyone who is not interested can simply hide the channel.

Last but not least, the classic trade channel should be used again for items and professions.

Nothing changes in the previous rules for boosting.

It’s entirely possible that there are a few “hidden” or undocumented changes in the patch, but nothing is known about them yet. The patch notes are correspondingly poor and only contain the two points mentioned above.

When is the patch coming out? Patch 9.2.7 goes live on August 17, 2022, which is already next week with maintenance on Wednesday.

Is there more to come before Dragonflight? That is probably rather unlikely. Only the pre-patch 10.0, which should be due a few weeks before the official release of Dragonflight, will be released before then. According to the current state of knowledge, a patch 9.3 is not planned. However, there are already indications that with the pre-patch you can enjoy playing a Caller of the Dracthyr already – as they recently received a Covenant ability and even legendary items in the alpha, those in the regions can be used by Shadowlands.

What do you think of the introduction of a “boosting” channel? Just the right solution to limit spam? Or shouldn’t that be allowed at all?
