Since BlizzCon 2023 we have known that a fourth season for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is coming. Thanks to the 2024 roadmap, it is also known that WoW patch 10.2.6 awaits us shortly before the start of the season. But what else was announced by those responsible for Blizzard?
In this overview article we have summarized for you all the information known so far about Dragonflight Season 4 and the next content patch of the expansion. And we start with a message that is still as warm and fresh as your breakfast sandwiches from the bakery.
The release of WoW Patch 10.2.6
With a post on the official WoW website, the Blizzard developers announced that patch 10.2.6 will hit the European live servers on March 20, 2024. What content awaits you right at launch has been clear since March 19, 2024: There is a battle royale mode called Plunderstorm. You can find all the information about this in this article:

The start of Dragonflight Season 4
What is clear is that the content of Season 4, which is part of the new update, will only go live a few weeks after the release of WoW Patch 10.2.6. There is no specific date for the season yet.
When does the PTR for Season 4 go online?
The Blizzard developers had already stated that a test server for Season 4 will go online as soon as patch 10.2.6 is released and there is no longer any reason to keep the contents of the update a secret. So expect the PTR phase to start in the week of March 20th or the following week.
The mythical dungeons of the 4th season
The Blizzard developers have announced extensive changes to the dungeon system for the 4th season of WoW Dragonflight. The most important points:
These dungeons have been confirmed for the upcoming Mythic Plus rotation:
The two parts of Twilight of the Eternal are currently out of rotation.
The raids of Season 4
In an interview with Icy Veins from November 2023, game director Ion Hazzikostas explained that at the end of Dragonflight we will be treated to a Fateful Season like the one that first appeared in Shadowlands.
This means that you can once again visit the Vault of Incarnations, Abberus, Crucible of Shadows and Amirdrassil, Hope of the Dream in one raid, just in a customized version (with tougher enemies and better loot).
Hazzikostas also explained on Reddit that there will definitely be a kind of dinar system for Season 4 (also known from Shadowlands), which you can use to buy specific pieces of equipment if the loot god is not favorable to you.
The new animal sets for all classes
Earlier this year, a vote took place in the WoW community to determine the tier set designs and bonuses for all classes and specializations for Season 4. All sets and effects from the first three Dragonflight seasons were available to choose from.
You can find all the results from the survey in the official WoW forum.
Gladiator mount and more – what else is known?
Since there is still no PTR for Dragonflight Season 4 (and thus data mining finds), there is a lack of further information so far. Thanks to the roadmap for 2024, it is clear that in addition to the fourth PvP season (including new titles, gladiator mounts, etc.), fresh rewards for activities in the open world are also planned.
As soon as the Blizzard developers reveal more details and the PTR goes live, we will update our overview article for Season 4 of WoW Dragonflight for you. Until then, you can earn fancy mounts, pets and more in WoW via the Hearthstone anniversary that is currently underway
