Patch 10.2.5 will be released in mid-January – that’s what’s in it

The next World of Warcraft patch has a release date. We reveal what’s inside – and when it starts.

For World of Warcraft, the year 2024 also began with a busy calendar and a strict roadmap. The developers obviously want to deal with the first point particularly quickly. The next patch for World of Warcraft Dragonflight will be released in just a few weeks, a little earlier than originally thought. It starts in just under 2 weeks.

When will patch 10.2.5 be released? The patch 10.2.5 Seeds of Renewal will be released on January 17, 2024. As usual, the patch will go online a day earlier in America due to the time difference and different maintenance work.

As announced in the roadmap – the content of patch 10.2.5.

What’s in Patch 10.2.5 Seeds of Renewal?

This patch is just a “small” patch, so there is no real new area or season. Instead, there are a lot of smaller features that should provide distraction for at least a few weeks – plus, of course, quests to slowly bring Dragonflight to a conclusion. Patch 10.2.5 highlights include:

Worldwide Dragon Riding: Dragon riding will be unlocked worldwide, i.e. in all old areas where you can already fly. Dragon riding here “only” has a speed of 85% of the maximum speed on the dragon islands, but that is still many times faster than conventional flying mounts.

Azeroth Archives: A new feature that should particularly please story fans. Experience stories from the past of the Dragon Islands here, both in individual and group activities. Collectors can look forward to battle pets, mounts and a transmog set.

Bel’ameth: The new capital of the night elves has been founded. After the Amirdrassil has bloomed, the night elves have now chosen the tree as their home – Kaldorei fans can discover a lot here.

Retaking Gilneas: King Greymane sets out to take back Gilneas – but the former human kingdom is not as deserted as hoped. Help bring the empire back into the hands of the Worgen King.

Follower Dungeons: As a tank, healer or DD, you can now join a group of NPCs to play normal dungeons without any pressure. This is possible for solo players or groups of 2-4 characters. This means you can experience the normal dungeons without the social pressure and explore them at your own pace.

New Character Customizations: Trolls get new hair colors and Draenei also get a few innovations. Warlocks can look forward to more customization for their demons, as the Tyrants and Darksights can be visually customized.

What else is in the patch? Aside from the highlights, there are certainly one or two hidden features that have sneaked into the patch. One of them is the overhaul of the Love is in the Air event (Valentine’s Day), which is celebrated in February. New rewards and perhaps one or two fresh quests await you here.
