A new one has been added to the plane crashes that can happen from time to time. The passenger plane of Precision Air, Tanzania’s largest airline, crashed into Lake Victoria while trying to land at the airport in the city of Bukoba. In a statement made by the authorities, it was stated that the plane, which took off from the capital Dar es Salaam, crashed into Lake Victoria due to storms and heavy rains. While search and rescue teams were sent to the scene by boats, it was reported that 15 people have been rescued so far. There was no information on how many passengers were on the plane.

President of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, shared on his social media account regarding the accident, “I learned with sadness the news of the accident involving the plane belonging to Precision Air. Please keep our calm in the moments when the rescue operations continue.”
Tanzania Police Kagera District Director William Mwampaghale shared the information that many passengers were rescued from the plane that crashed into Lake Victoria due to bad weather conditions. Mwampaghale noted that rescue efforts continue.
