The man had attempted the theory test 10 times but failed in all attempts. Then he got in touch with a person via social media who was willing to help him in exchange for compensation.
The position would cost between SEK 10,000 – 15,000 if he passed the test, which he did not. Instead, he was caught red-handed during the test with aids such as a camera lens, antenna and headphones.
Assessed as a serious crime
The man is now being prosecuted for making a false statement, because at the time of the test he promised on his honor and conscience not to use unauthorized aids.
He confessed in questioning and was sentenced by the Varberg district court to 50 daily fines. The crime was assessed as serious because it is a test that must prove that the driver has the required knowledge to drive vehicles in traffic.
