The leader of the Norwegian left-wing party Rødt, Bjørnar Moxnes, is resigning after the theft scandal, for which he apologized in early July.
At the end of June, it became known that Moxnes had received a penalty order with a fine of 3,000 Norwegian kroner for having stolen a pair of sunglasses at Oslo’s Gardemoen airport earlier in June, reports NRK.
Moxne’s announcement comes on his Facebook page.
“I took those sunglasses from the store at Gardermoen. I made a big mistake and I made it much worse by the way I handled it afterwards. I’m really sorry for that, and I want to apologize for it,” he writes.
