Part of Grand River Street North in Paris will be closed Tuesday to film scenes of the French-language television series Paris Paris.

Grand River Street North between William and Mechanic streets will be closed from 9 am to noon. Barricades will be in place and there will be no through traffic.

Paris was also a location for filming of the series in the summer of 2021.

Producer Rayne Zukerman created the comedy series with her husband, Dominic Desjardins, who is also the writer and director. The couple’s son Balzac Zukerman-Desjardins, has a starring role.

“It’s about a man in his 40s living in Paris, Ont. who is having a mid-life crisis,” Zukerman explained in 2021. “He is a Francophone who has moved to Ontario to be with his wife.”

In Paris, Ont., Philippe, portrayed by Quebec actor Benoit Mauffette, finds a tunnel that leads him to Paris, France where he creates a second, idealized French life away from his duties as a husband and father. It’s only a matter of time, however, before one life starts to impact the other.

Several Paris, Ont. locations have been used for filming, including the skate park beside the Syl Apps Community Centre, the William Street bridge, and several spots downtown.
