Part Kamp van Zeist becomes nature reserve

Kamp van Zeist has been used as a military site since the early nineteenth century. During the First World War, Belgian soldiers who had deserted were imprisoned there. After the Second World War, the American armed forces settled in Soesterberg. At the turn of the century, part of the camp became British territory, so that the Scottish court could settle there in connection with the Lockerbie trial, which was held in the Netherlands.
