▸ What is it that makes the love affair between Iron Maiden and the Swedish fans so strong? Ever since the band started, generation after generation of fans has emerged and for Aftonbladet’s hard rock expert Sofia Bergström and the national athletics team’s federal doctor Sverker Nilsson, the band is a pure family affair where children, parents and even grandparents are passionate about Iron Maiden. They both take a seat in the studio for a conversation about the Swedish fans and the band’s success on Swedish soil. There will be hits in the charts, coveted records and merchandise, the untipped interview with Pernilla Wahlgren in the Sunday opening, the most coveted Maiden t-shirt and the SVT broadcast that once and for all brought Iron Maiden into Swedish living rooms. There will also be easy derailed talk with Janick Gers and Bruce Dickinson from the archive and then we meet Tommy Holl who is perhaps the Swedish photographer who has photographed the band the most in the last 20 years.
