Parnevik mocks the Idol viewers Those who watch are

After his participation in the long-running series So much better, TV4 viewers have become more and more familiar with the artist Peg Parnevik. Last spring, she was launched as a new member of the Idol jury. Other colorful members of the jury are Katia Mosally, Anders Bagge and Avicii former manager Ash Pournouri.

When Pournouri was presented as a new member, TV4 was met with harsh criticism for the decision. This when Ash was accused of pushing Avicii too hard.

“No no no! Away or boycott!” and “But jeez. Hasn’t that man proven himself to be the wrong man for the job already?” were some reactions from outraged viewers. But the criticism flowed from Idol’s executive producer Malin Knave.

“We are aware that there are thoughts and opinions regarding the selection of the jury. We are very happy that Ash is part of the Idol jury and the response has been overwhelmingly positive,” she wrote to The evening paper in a message.

But Ash wasn’t the only juror to face criticism. The spotlight has also been directed at Peg Parnevik, and the production believes that she sometimes expressed herself too harshly towards the Idols.

This week could News24 also reveal that TV4 has been reported to the Review Board. This when several viewers reacted to the dress that Peg wore in the broadcast. Those who reported said that her outfit did not rhyme with the fact that Idol is family entertainment.

In the podcast Peg & Penny like Peg has with her sister Penny This is how Peg tells us about the criticism she faced.

– I’ve done Idol and Idol has been… it’s like giving birth, I suspect. It’s nice that we get half of December, January and February, March like that. Because if there was a push for another season, I probably would have turned it down. It’s intense. It’s a bubble. My God what people…I think after So Much Better I thought I was in love with people. Now I’m back to people hating me. What did I do?, says Peg.

The words make sister Penny Parnevik react, and she quickly defends her sister – and instead directs sudden criticism at the program’s viewers.

– I have a bone to pick (roughly an unpicked goose, ed. note) with those who watch Idol. They are cocoa bananas, says Penny Parnevik in the podcast.

The words cause Peg to interrupt her sister immediately.

– We can talk about it another time. I think I’ll be there again, we’ll see, they haven’t asked me yet, but I think…, says Peg further.

Penny says that she thinks Peg will be allowed to continue one more season on the jury, as according to Penny the ratings have improved since Peg joined the jury.

According to statistics from MMSwhich measures television viewing in Sweden, Idol has approximately 500 – 600,000 viewers each week linearly. Around 100,000 viewers follow the music competition online.
