PARIS-ROUBAIX. “L’Enfer du Nord”, one of the highlights of the start of the season, takes place this Sunday, April 17. Find all the broadcast information on the race.
Due to the first round of the presidential election, the 2022 edition of Paris-Roubaix takes place this Sunday, April 17, two weeks after the Tour of Flanders and a few days from the Flèche Wallonne. For this “Hell of the North”, Wout van Aert, absent from the circuit for a few weeks due to the Covid, will be well at the start as his sporting director said. “Wout is in excellent health, Merijn Zeeman, Jumbo-Visma’s sporting director, said in a team statement. But, after a week of isolation, it is no longer possible for him to be in peak form. His Condition (physical) in Roubaix will be weak and he will miss Thursday’s reconnaissance. It is anything but an ideal preparation. Nevertheless, a rider like Wout can still play a role, supporting Christophe Laporte, Mike Teunissen or Nathan van Hooydonck.”
A high plateau will be at the start of the “Hell of the North” with in particular Wout van Aert or Mathieu van der Poel.
- Favorites: Wout van Aert / Mathieu van der Poel
- Outsiders: Stefan Küng / Mads Pedersen / Matej Mohoric / Michael Matthews / Jasper Stuyven / Dylan Van Baarle, Alexander Kristoff / Victor Campenaerts / Filippo Ganna.
