Paris Nice profile of the 1st stage favourites

PARIS-NICE. Three in a row for Maximilian Schachmann after 2020 and 2021? The first major event of the year for the cycling season takes place this weekend with the kick-off in Paris Nice.

[Mis à jour le 3 mars 2022 à 16h00] From March 6 to 13, the best cyclists will be present for this 80th edition of Paris-Nice. Among the favorites, Maximilian Schachmann will be looking for a third consecutive title as Primoz Roglic will try to erase his disappointment from last year when the last Vuelta winner, in the lead, crashed twice in the last stage finishing 15th overall. Among the other main riders, Nairo Quintana, winner of the Tour de la Provence will start. As for the sprinters, Fabio Jakobsen, Sam Bennett, Bryan Coquard, Sonny Colbrelli, Jasper Philipsen or Dylan Groenewegen will be there.

On the French side, they will be very numerous as every year: David Gaudu, Valentin Madouas (Groupama-FDJ), Christophe Laporte (Jumbo-Visma), Guillaume Martin, Bryan Coquard (Cofidis), Florian Sénéchal (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl) , Aurélien Paret-Peintre, Dorian Godon (AG2R Citroën Team), Pierre Latour, Anthony Turgis (TotalEnergies) and Franck Bonnamour (B&B Hotels – KTM) are expected at the start of this 80th edition of Paris-Nice.
