Paris Fair announces entertainment line up

The RCMP Musical Ride will open this year’s Paris Fair.

Featuring 32 horses and riders performing drills choreographed to music, the ride is a Canadian tradition celebrating the heritage and history of Canada’s national police force.

This year marks the 166th anniversary of the fair which runs from Aug. 29 to Sept. 2. The first of two musical ride performances takes place Aug. 29 at 7 pm with a second performance scheduled for 2 pm Aug. 30.

Entertainment at this year’s fair includes country music stars Jade Eagleson on Aug. 31 and Brett Kissel on Sept. 1. Both performers are 2024 Juno award nominees.

Eagleson’s album, Do It Anyway, and Kissel’s album The Compass Project – South Album, were nominated for the Country Album of the Year.

“We’re excited to welcome two of Canada’s brightest country music starts,” Amy Warne, the general manager of the Paris Agricultural Society, said. “Eagleson’s authentic country sound and heartfelt lyrics have earned him a dedicated following and numerous accolades in the county music scene.”

Warner said Kissel is known for his dynamic performances, engaging stage presence and powerful vocals.

In addition to headline acts, the Paris Fair includes a range of attractions including agricultural exhibits, a midway and fair food. The fair also features livestock shows, a demolition derby and craft displays to highlight the area’s agricultural heritage and attracts thousands of visitors each year.
