BOOK FAIR. The Grand Palais Ephémère is hosting the Paris Book Festival this Friday, April 21, 2023, which replaces the former Salon du Livre. Guest authors, conferences… Here is the program!

[Mis à jour le 18 avril 2023 à 13h10] The Paris Book Festival takes place from Friday April 21 to Sunday April 23, 2023 in the heart of the ephemeral Grand Palais in the seventh arrondissement of Paris, where more than 3,000 authors from different universes are expected, including Daniel Pennac, Laurent Gaudé, Victor Castanet, Catherine Meurisse who will promote her latest comic strip Human, too human), or, Atsushi Kaneko, manga author (Bambi, Soil, Mushi, Search & Destroy).

THE italian letters will be in the spotlight, with the presence of some fifty Italian authors, including the novelists Alessandro Baricco, Erri de Luca, Milena Angus and Maurizio Serra, but also the Italian author of erotic comics Milo Manarawho will be present on April 23 at 9 p.m., but at the Maison de la Poésie in the 3rd arrondissement, for an interview on his adaptation-event of the novel by Umberto Eco In the name of the Rose.

Visitors will be able to meet writers through a program of events, dedications and conferences, and attend the presentation of pliterary prizes. Here are some program highlights:

Friday, April 21, 2023 :

  • 9 a.m.: Literary prize for high school students, apprentices and vocational training interns in the Île-de-France Region.
  • 1 p.m.: Presentation of the Marie-Claire Prize
  • 2 p.m.: Women in the shadows – A dialogue between Christine Orban and Emmanuelle de Boysson
  • 4 p.m.: “Venice Marco Polo Literary Prize“: a bridge between France and Italy
  • 3 p.m.: Italy yesterday and today – A dialogue between Ezio Mauro, Carlo Ossola and Miguel Vila
  • 6 p.m.: Interview with Allain Bougrain-Dubourg (reservation)
    Climate Academy, village hall
  • 8 p.m.: Interview with Erri DeLucamoderated by Christophe Ono-Dit-Biot (deputy editor of the weekly newspaper Le Point) around his brand new novel to be published Full-scale – At the Sorbonne and by reservation

Saturday April 22, 2023 :

  • 11 a.m.: Write at all costs – A dialogue between Justine Augier and Lola Lafon
  • 1 p.m.: Prize for readers of the libraries of the city of Paris
  • 3 p.m.: Great interview with François Gemenne at the Climate Academy, village hall
  • 3 p.m.: Interview between Amélie and Juliette Nothomb at La Sorbonne and by reservation.
  • 3 p.m.: Sacred femininity: a dialogue between Annie Lulu, Emmanuelle Pirotte and Hélène Frappat
  • 4 p.m.: Interview with Tahar Ben Jellounhosted by Amélie Cordonnier
  • 5 p.m.: Wild World, literature at the service of nature – A dialogue between Laurent Tillon and Olivier Remaud (reservation)
  • 6 p.m.: Marcel Gotlib Prize

Sunday April 23, 2023 :

For its 41st edition, the Salon du Livre, renamed Festival du Livre Paris 2023, will take place from Friday April 21 to Sunday April 23, 2023.

The Paris Book Festival is being held for the first time at Big palace Short-liveda 10,000 m² temporary building located at 2, Place Joffre in the 7th arrondissement of Paris.
