With four days to go until the start of the Paralympic Games, which will be held in France for the first time, the Paris 2024 Organising Committee is hoping to rekindle the fire. The expression is to be taken literally, since it is the Paralympic flame that will be reborn this Saturday morning during a lighting ceremony in Stoke Mandeville, about sixty kilometres from London, the birthplace of these Games, which were conceived by a doctor in the aftermath of the Second World War.
