Tickets for the Olympics are being sold out, but there is still one last phase until the start of the Games.
A few months before the start of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, ticketing is still available to as many people as possible. Regularly, and until the start of the Olympic Games, surprise sales phases on a discipline may be put on sale. This was the case at the beginning of March with a campaign for athletics events.
This Thursday, May 30 and every Thursday until the start of the Olympics, a new phase will be launched on the official Paris 2024 Ticket Office website tickets.paris2024.org and application. This May 30, 30,000 new places will be offered for athletics, beach volleyball and men’s rugby sevens. Sports will change regularly to try to satisfy as many people as possible.
“There will notably be places for athletics finals (decathlon and men’s 10,000 m) from 85 euros, preliminary beach volleyball matches, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, from 24 euros, or meetings of the French rugby sevens team from 90 euros” explained Michaël Aloïsio, the deputy general director of Paris 2024. Tickets for the opening ceremony will also be available for 90 euros in the coming weeks.
Several tickets are also distributed free of charge, particularly for the opening ceremony. In total, no less than 220,000 tickets are available, distributed by the Organizing Committee, the State and the City of Paris which should distribute 139,000 places between them. A quota of 74,000 places would be reserved to allow local authorities to distribute invitations. Note also that 5,000 places could go to local residents close to the opening ceremony. Minister Amélie Oudéa-Castéra also announced that the 3,263 students who will have to vacate their accommodation at the CROUS would be given a place for the opening ceremony.
