Several children in the province of Utrecht contracted measles last week after being infected by a child from abroad. According to Fanoy, the risk of spread is small. “There are only a few infections and the first patients are now no longer contagious. The chance that a child will come into contact with the measles virus is therefore very small,” says Ewout Fanoy, Society and Health doctor at GGD region Utrecht.
