“The great thing about this collective fund is that parents who want and are able to do so can also make an extra contribution,” says councilor Eelco Eerenberg (Education). “By managing the money from one fund, we will ensure a more equal distribution, so that all children in Utrecht can participate in school activities.” The city manager would prefer to see the government completely abolish the voluntary parental contribution. “Or send more funding to schools, so that parental contributions can be reduced.”
