A ban from Valve has sparked a discussion about the PC gaming platform Steam, because Valve has banned St4ck, the user with the currently highest Steam level in the world: 5001. This is a controversial person who is suspected of cheating other players to have. He bought the high level with huge sums in 2021. St4ck is also a dealer of skins in Counter-Strike 2, whose inventory is worth 1.4 million euros.
Which account is this about?
This was his spell: The player received a community ban at 12:20 a.m. on October 5th. This meant he could no longer trade items from his inventory. We also reported on this ban on MeinMMO.
However, he was unbanned after just 17 hours on the same day.
Valve did not give a reason for the community ban.
Ban triggers Pay2Win discussion on Steam
What is the discussion? Some had assumed that St4ck was banned because of allegations circulating against his account. It is said on YouTube that St4ck cheated other players when trading skins in CS:GO.
It’s supposed to be about the fact that he didn’t pay for the items he received. The amount in dispute is $30,000.
Players who believe he was banned for cheating had cheered the ban. They now see the “unbanning” after a few hours as proof that Valve is sparing the players who bring them so much money.
The quick unban would prove that Steam is “Pay2Win”.
What do others say? However, many users on reddit contradict this theory: The user was not banned for cheating, but only received a short ban for comments on Steam.
It is completely normal for this ban to expire after a few hours. There is no truth to Pay2Win’s allegations against Steam.
The scam allegations are also unsubstantiated and are just slander from people who are jealous of the dealer’s account and wealth.
We reported on St4ck on MeinMMMO 2019, at that time he “only” had Steam level 4,000
