Parcoursup 2024: what are the dates of the procedure?

Sometimes considered too complex, the Parcoursup post-baccalaureate admission platform should become more accessible and easier to use. This was announced by the Minister of Higher Education, Sylvie Retailleau. First novelty, from this year and from the Second, high school students will be able to create their profile on Parcoursup. All students will also be able to use a “comparator”which will allow them to “find out about the content, the status of training, the pressure rate and tuition fees”, explained Sylvie Retailleau to JDD on December 17. Other new features should be included on each training sheet, such as selectivity, the profile of candidates from previous years, the dates of open days in universities and training courses. According to Franceinfo, elements on professional integration should also be added for BTS and professional licenses. It is this Wednesday, December 20 that the Parcoursup site opens with the information phase, but registrations will only be possible from January.

When does Parcoursup 2024 officially open?

According to the schedule revealed by the ministry, the Parcoursup 2024 platform officially opens to candidates on Wednesday January 17, 2024 with the registration stage.

What are the dates of the Parcoursup 2024 calendar?

• Wednesday December 20, 2023 : start of the information phase with the discovery of the training courses offered.
• Wednesday January 17, 2024 : opening of registrations, creation of the candidate file and formulation of wishes.
• Thursday March 14, 2024 : end of the formulation of training wishes.
• Wednesday April 3, 2024 : confirmation of wishes and sending of application files.
• Thursday May 30, 2024 : start of the main Parcoursup admission phase, i.e. the first responses from the courses.
• Tuesday June 11, 2024 : start of the Parcoursup complementary phase.
• Friday July 12, 2024 : end of the main admission phase of Parcoursup 2024.

L’registration for Parcoursup is done online for free on the dedicated site coursup.fr. The candidate will directly find the registration tab on the home page of the site, “I’m registering on Parcoursup”. Simply click on the “Register” box. The candidate must then provide several pieces of information for their registration to be validated. He must have :

• A valid email address
• Their national student identifier (INE)
• His transcript of the anticipated baccalaureate exams

Once registered on the Parcoursup platform, comes the stage of creation of the candidate file. To do this, you must enter a valid email address, your INE number. Typically, your personal information is automatically pre-populated. Check them and correct them if necessary. This folder will contain your Future sheetyour motivated training project and your interests. From January 17, 2024, you will be able to express your wishes and complete your motivated training project. You will of course be able to modify or add new elements to your file during the Parcoursup procedure.

To express your wishes, everything happens online on the Parcoursup platform. First of all, use the search engine to access the training courses that interest you and read their “presentation sheet”. If the training suits you, click on “Add to wish list”. You do not have to indicate an order of preference.

How many wishes can we make on Parcoursup?

The candidate can formulate up to 10 wishes for selective or non-selective training (excluding apprenticeships), and a maximum of 20 sub-wishes. About the apprenticeship training, the candidate can formulate up to 10 wishes. They are visible in a separate list. In the case of a positive response to two wishes, he must renounce one of them.

THE sub-wishes can be formulated for certain training courses, in particular BTS, prep classes, IFSI, engineering and business/management schools. Please note that for IFSIs, orthoptics, speech therapy and hearing aid institutes, candidates are limited to 5 wishes per type of training.
