Pär Lindgren is awarded the Electronic Music Prize

Lindgren receives the prize for “Rummet” from 1980. The jury writes in its justification that it is a “powerful and innovative work that has inspired and amazed generations of listeners and authors. The work is sonorous, spatial and multidimensional with sophisticated counterpoint in several layers”.

The prize sum is SEK 75,000.

Pär Lindgren, who has previously been praised several times for his creation, was born in 1952 and has been active as a composer since the 1970s. In addition to that, he has also worked as both lecturer and professor at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm.

The Electronic Music Award is intended to promote and raise the profile of electronic art music, and reflect the breadth of artistic expression within the scope of electronic music, and will be awarded annually.
