Pär Carmonius cycles the Vätternrundan on an odd 70s bike

– This should go well, says Pär Carmonius just before he jumps on his bike again after a short pit stop in Jönköping to fill up with water.

Now another 21 miles await the team, which is odd in the context of competition.

He is one of the nearly 16,000 registered participants in this year’s Vätternrundan, which is the 58th edition. Among the participants there is everything from debutants doing their first round to veterans who have done both 30, 40 and 50 races. In total, they represent around 60 nationalities.

In the clip above, you hear some of the cyclists at the pit stop in Jönköping and there you also see Pär Carmonius on his special racing bike.
