Papara acquired esports club SuperMassive

The first esports purchase made at a corporate level in Turkey was made, paparaacquired esports club SuperMassive announced.

The official statement on this subject stated the following: “Papara sponsored the esports club Papara SuperMassive, which was founded in 2016 and packed 19 championships in different esports branches in seven years, in 2020. The agreement, completed by 2023, was the first esports acquisition made at the corporate level in Turkey. Pointing out that esports is a rising branch and a developing economy, and that corporate esports club purchases are common in the world, Papara CEO Emre Kenci said, “Esports is an industry. It is a sport that gives hope to young people and provides career opportunities. We believe that this area will grow a lot and we are planning many investments in terms of both facilities and infrastructure for its growth. There are many examples of corporate investments in the field of e-sports in the world, but Papara made this for the first time in Turkey with the purchase of SuperMassive, which was established with the vision of being Turkey’s ‘dream team’ in e-sports. “We will continue to increase these investments and I am sure that we will get very good returns,” he said.

Papara, which allows video players to receive digital codes for many games such as League of Legends, PUBG, Apex Legends with the Game & Digital Code step offered in the Payments menu, also announced its product called Publisher Account as of June 2023. This game-focused solution, which allows Twitch broadcasters to easily receive support and donations from their followers via Papara, began to be used by more than 1,000 Twitch broadcasters in a short time. In addition, Papara adopted the motto “If there is a game, Papara” and participated in the International Digital Game and Entertainment Fair GameX 2023 with a large stand and hosted more than 40 thousand visitors at its stand for four days.

Following the purchase agreement, Bora Koçyiğit, who is well known in the Turkish sports and esports ecosystem, was appointed as the CEO of Papara-SuperMassive. Bora Koçyiğit, a Board Member of the Turkish Esports Federation, played a leading role in introducing Turkey’s well-established sports clubs to the esports industry and establishing the esports teams of these clubs.

Noting that the company has long been a prominent brand with its support to the esports ecosystem, Papara-SuperMassive CEO Bora Koçyiğit said, “With this acquisition, from now on, Papara will be wherever SuperMassive is. Papara, which supports the players and e-sports players with the motto ‘If there is a game, Papara’, will have the chance to have more contact with Generation Z, the target audience it cares about most, at the points where they spend the most time. At the same time, this major corporate investment in the esports sector, which has a very strong growth potential in Turkey and internationally, will be a pioneer for other brands that want to invest in this field. “With the events to be held at Gamer Hub, which will be opened in its new form as of January 2024 and has the title of Europe’s largest esports center, esports culture will be developed and spread throughout Turkey.”

Papara, which continues its activities under the roof of Papara under the management of Bora Koçyiğit, is also taking action for a Gamer Hub planned to be located at the center of Papara SuperMassive, purchasing an esports center in Ataşehir and redesigning it as Papara SuperMassive Gamer Hub. Papara SuperMassive Gamer Hub, which will also be used as a gaming house by the Papara SuperMassive club and will host meetings and events where those interested in e-sports can come together, is expected to open in its new form as of January 2024. “In addition, efforts are continuing to sell Papara SuperMassive brand products.”
