Smoke panic occurred on a passenger plane from Japan’s Fukuoka prefecture to Miyazaki prefecture.
According to the written statement made by the airline named Oriental Air Bridge, smoke was seen in the cabin of the plane with a capacity of 74 passengers, which took off from Fukuoka Airport at 12:48 local time with 35 passengers, including 2 babies, and 4 crew members. An emergency alert over Kumamoto province, the pilots made an emergency landing at Miyazaki Airport at 13.29. While the passengers were evacuated by the firefighters and civil aviation personnel waiting at the airport, no injuries were reported. In the statement made by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, it was announced that the runway at the airport was closed for 1 hour as of 13.30 due to the incident.
It was stated that other planes planned to land on the runway were diverted to different airports near the region. A detailed investigation into the incident has been initiated.
