According to ABC News Australia, Queenstown Airport officials in New Zealand announced that one of the engines of flight “VA148” caught fire some time after takeoff.

Authorities noted that the Boeing 737 type plane, which took off for Melbourne, Australia, at 17.50 local time, landed safely at Invercargill Airport in the South Island.
Virgin Australia Airlines operations chief Stuart Aggs said the fire may have started due to a bird hitting the engine.
No statement was made regarding the health status of the 67 passengers and 6 crew on the plane.
